Post Twitter/X threads automatically on publish

Maintained in our help center; this page is the canonical copy.

Shipstar can post Twitter/X threads the moment you publish them, or on a recurring schedule, so your audience hears about every release without you leaving your workflow. Each generated thread is 3–5 tweets, with every tweet kept under 280 characters and written for engagement.

Connect your X account

  1. In the dashboard, open Destinations and find the X (Twitter) tile.
  2. Click Connect and complete the authorization flow to link your X account.
  3. Once connected, the tile shows a check badge confirming the destination is active.
  4. Post threads on publish or on a schedule

    • On publish — generate a Twitter Thread content type, review the draft in the dashboard, and publish it. Shipstar posts the thread to your connected X account automatically and links back to the live thread from the dashboard so you can find it quickly.
    • On a schedule — set up a recurring calendar event with Twitter Thread as the content type and X as the delivery target. Each occurrence generates a new thread and posts it without any manual step.

    Failed deliveries and retries

If a scheduled X delivery fails, Shipstar sends you an email notification so you're aware straight away. You can retry the failed delivery on demand from the dashboard — you don't need to wait for the next scheduled occurrence or regenerate the content. Fixing the underlying issue (such as reconnecting your X account) and then retrying is all it takes to get the thread posted.
