Sync knowledge base articles to Intercom

Maintained in our help center; this page is the canonical copy.

Shipstar can generate categorized help center articles from your recent commits and sync them directly to your Intercom workspace. This means your help center stays current with every feature you ship, without you having to write a word.

Connect Intercom

  1. In the dashboard, open Destinations and find the Intercom tile.
  2. Click Connect and follow the prompts to authorize Shipstar's access to your Intercom workspace.
  3. Once connected, the Intercom tile shows a check badge to confirm the destination is ready.
  4. Generate and sync KB articles

    1. From the dashboard, trigger a new generation and select KB Articles as the content type. Shipstar analyzes your recent commits and produces a set of categorized help articles in JSON format — multiple articles per generation, organized by topic.
    2. Review the generated articles in the dashboard. You can edit any article before approving.
    3. When you're happy with the set, approve it. Shipstar syncs the articles directly to your Intercom help center.
    4. Things to know

      • Each KB Articles generation costs 100 credits.
      • Shipstar focuses on user-facing changes when writing articles, so implementation details and internal refactors are automatically filtered out.
      • You can steer what the articles cover and how technical they read using Settings → Content guidelines — for example, excluding docs-site changes or setting a plain-language voice for end users.
      • Articles are reviewed in Shipstar before anything reaches Intercom, so you always have a chance to edit or reject a draft.
