Newsletter Digests
Keep your users and stakeholders in the loop without writing a single email. Shipstar compiles what shipped in a period into a release notes email, written from your GitHub commits and merged pull requests. Configure the cadence — weekly, monthly, or per-release — review each issue, and approve it to send. The Release Notes Newsletter page under Solutions is the canonical guide to the whole workflow.
Automatic content compilation
Shipstar reads the commits and merged pull requests in the period and drafts one email that covers them, written as prose a customer can read rather than a list of commit subjects. The draft follows your project's voice preset and any focus and exclusions you set, and it lands in the review queue like every other piece of generated content, so you edit and approve before anything is sent.
A clean, responsive email
Each issue is rendered in Shipstar's responsive email template, so it reads well on desktop, on mobile, and in the major email clients without design work on your side. The body is the release notes you approved. The same approved content also updates your hosted changelog and the other destinations you have connected, so email never lags the changelog.
Flexible scheduling
Generate an issue once, or put it on a schedule: daily, weekly, or monthly. A scheduled issue covers the gap since the previous one, capped at 31 days, so nothing is announced twice and nothing is skipped; a one-off run covers the last seven days. Approved issues that are scheduled go out on their own when their time arrives, and the calendar shows what is queued.
Subscriber management built in
Recipients live in Shipstar. Each project has its own mailing lists, up to 20 lists with up to 500 active recipients each, and every address is double opted in. Every message carries a per-recipient one-click unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribed address is deactivated permanently, so re-adding it can never resurrect an opt-out. Lists and recipients can be managed from the dashboard or over the API, and none of it costs credits.
